I was soo ubberly excited when I was asked to work with RITZ Crackers on top of Allrecipes.com for the #RITZ NY BLITZ Game Day events. RITZ is a must for your holiday events as well as tailgating sporting events, and various parties and gatherings.
Fun factoids about RITZ:
-The cracker was introduced to the US in 1934 by Nabisco Company(once known as National Biscuit Company)
-1934 Ritz crackers cost about 19 cents
-is one of the TOP selling cracker selling more then 5 billion boxes a year
-They developed a Pizza flavor in the early 90′s….hmm, where’s mine?
But all in all, it’s interesting how a product comes about, how it can turn into something more then a product but rather an ingredient to success for your kitchen. Using RITZ has been a staple in my house. From topping a cracker with ham and cheese, to making a breading for frying raviolis, crushing it into a pie crust and using it in casseroles. It’s really a versatile product ingredient. And to just eating it plain while surfing the internet and finding my blog and reading along…(had to go there LOL!)
Part of our assignment with RITZ Crackers besides creating a recipe utilizing the crackers as the main star but was to try one inspired recipe created by a restaurant in NY. I was assigned RITZ Pastrami and Corned Beef Mini Sandwich on Allrecipes.com and needless to say, I liked it my guys liked it more with the way it was written, myself, I needed less meat….I couldn’t fit it in my mouth it was stacked like 3 inches high….so it’s a total guy bite for sure! And that’s totally not a bad thing at all if you have a large mouth. Anyway, it was quite nice, the sauce was really good, but oozy and messy. Grab a plate because you’re going to need one with these
But I went a little further in my assignment, I tried all the recipes as stated in my last blog
I honestly couldn’t help myself. My family loves apps, not the digital type on your phone or computer, food apps. SO anytime I want to switch things up for a variety of apps on a weekend…I’m hands down, on board.
I changed up the recipe created by Serendipity 3, only because I couldn’t get mine to set well 2-3 hours afterwards, as per messing with the recipe, I doubled the cream cheese and omitted the peanuts…The crust with the RITZ crackers…was wonderful. The White Pizza Meatball Dip was fantastic as well as the Country Fried Ribs too. I’ve been requested to make sure for the important Game Day Event on Feb. 2nd….that these make another appearance as what my family calls a “Repeat Offenders”. If you are on my “repeat offenders list” you are in good with the cook of this house.
As per my last RITZ blog, I also said, I made every recipe and I have. It’s hard to totally chose a favorite because each one was so different, they all brought smiles to my family’s faces. My friend Renee made a collage of each of our recipes and mentioned to our collective group of RITZers we could use the collage in our postings. SO Thank YOU, Renee from Renee’s Kitchen Adventures.
As we knuckle down and get to some serious and I mean serious game day treats, let’s not forget about my special group of RITZers, they do have some serious and infections likings for your special #Game Day Event for this coming weekend 2014 and should be a historic one on the Game Front. Please take the time and check out my friends blogs and recipes at Allrecipes.com/ritz Even if you aren’t a serious into sporting events, the recipes are still worthy of other gathering food tables. My love y’all from my Country Mountain Kitchen to yours…Happy Cookin’!

I participated in a campaign on behalf of RITZ Crackers. I received a 9 boxes of product to help with developing my #GameDay inspired recipe as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating in the #RITZNYBLITZ event.
